butter noodlesThe other day some friends and I were discussing comfort food. Several of my friends mentioned thick, creamy soups for their go-to-comfort-food. One thought of roast, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Another friend loves a gooey chocolate torte for her choice of comfort food. Me? Simple, simple, simple. I just love thick egg noodles. I cook them up and add a big dollup of butter or olive oil to the dish. Sprinkle salt and pepper and a bit of parmesan cheese and I am in heaven. I remember many years ago  as a kid making some buttered noodles for my mom. I cooked the noodles just rght. Butter, salt and pepper at the ready. The noodles were done and I put them in a colander and rinsed them — with ice cold water. Not so comforting! But the idea was right! Comfort foods really can offer comfort.What’s your comfort food of choice?
